High School
Over 925 high school students from all of the Stamford high schools have partnered with Future 5 to build meaningful connections and a personal Game Plan to achieve their academic, career and life goals. We encourage you to join the Future 5 family today.
Here to There Introductory Workshop
Connecting Students to Themselves
“Here to There” is our six-week workshop through which students get to know Future 5 and embark on self-discovery through group activities and facilitated discussions. Students connect to themselves, self-examine their strengths and areas of weakness, and begin to assess where they want to go. As part of this life-skills workshop, students learn strategies for problem solving, communication and teamwork. Supported one-on-one by a Coach, each student creates a personal Game Plan, which provides an initial strategic road map connecting long-term goals to immediate action steps. After completing the workshop, each student becomes an official Future 5 member.
Academic Support
Connecting Students to their Academic Success
Future 5 offers daily, small group and one-on-one academic tutoring and homework support.
College Prep Workshop
Connecting Students to their Postsecondary Future
Our College Prep Program ensures that high school juniors and seniors receive the comprehensive support needed to successfully navigate the many academic, financial and informational barriers they face when pursuing post-secondary education (including college, vocational, technical, or military programs). This workshop offers a full array of help, including a One-on-One College Coach, access to SAT test preparation, help in writing personal essays, campus visits and in-depth guidance on completing the application, financial aid and scholarship process.
“Next Level” Job Prep Workshop
Connecting Students to the Professional World
Job Prep helps students master the soft skills needed to excel in the workplace. Through discussion and real-time application of the strategies learned, students gain the confidence and skills to begin to create their own personal brand. Topics covered include work ethic, public speaking, interpersonal skills, resume writing, interviews, social media presence, teamwork and follow up. Working with our Corporate Partners, students participate in job shadowing, mock interviews, and role playing to help prepare them for internships, part time jobs and summer internships.
Community Service
Connecting Students to their Community
Future 5 students find joy and meaning in giving back to their community. Students provide service to community organizations such as ARI, Bartlett Arboretum, Fairgate Farm, Inspirica, Mill River Park Collaborative, New Covenant Center, Person-to-Person and more.
